Every connection gets the right approach. Where a reliable native or off-the-shelf integration exists, we use it. Where there isn't one, or the logic is more involved than a standard connector allows, we build a custom integration through the systems' APIs, with proper authentication, error handling and monitoring so it doesn't silently break.
